WHAT’S NEW for 2020?

I have an announcement. Marc has decided to make an honest woman out of me, and and we are planning on getting married this summer.  Marc has brought me so much happiness, and I am thrilled that he wants to grow old with me.

No, I’m not pregnant :). I just look like it.

For those of you that didn’t know, last August I broke my ankle. While the ankle has healed nicely, I have some unintended consequences. I sat on my bum and painted, that was good, but I gained almost 10 pounds at the same time. It seems that losing weight is a lot harder than I remember when I was younger!

I ride my horse 007 as often as time permits, but it is going to take more than that to lose the weight. I enjoy a cocktail in the evenings, but now I have to limit myself more than I would like! I have taken up a Youtube yoga class, which is helping with my flexibilty, but I am not so far losing any weight.

I have cut down on my food intake since the holidays were over, but so far no change.

When I was 20 years old, I had, for a short while, a weight problem. I managed to tackle the issue, after taking a hard look at myself, by enlisting the help of a nutritionist at the college I was attending. I began swimming laps, running, and following her instructions to the letter. I lost 25 pounds and kept it off.

Can I make the sacrifices it takes to lose the weight? Stay tuned! Maybe you can make some helpful suggestions.

MY HORSE

Tomorrow 007 and I are going to show our stuff at a horse show in North Fort Myers, Florida. We have been working really hard, with Marc’s help, to overcome some obstacles and advance in his training. He is improving his flying changes every day, and is becoming a real pleasure to ride. Wish us luck!

MY GALLERIES

I have been accepted into a new gallery, The Bokeelia Art Gallery on Pine Island, Florida. The Bokeelia Art Gallery was formerly the Crossed Palms Gallery, and is currently under renovation. I visited the gallery just after Christmas, and it is going to be phenomenal. Once the website is launched, I will include a link to it.

I am still at the DAAS Gallery in the Butterfly Estates in Fort Myers, Florida, and the Hirdie-Girdie Gallery on Sanibel Island. Last night the Hirdie Girdie Gallery had a wonderful reception along with the Tower Gallery next door. Both places had musicians playing, and there was a great turnout!  Marc and I wandered over to the Tower Gallery to say hi to our friend Kathy Seguin, who is an amazing wildlife photographer.

LATEST PAINTING

Another member of one of my galleries suggested that I paint the Sanibel Lighthouse. I have a lovely big canvas, 36 x 60 inches. A special shout out to Rob Hoovis, photographer.  Thank you!!! Rob Hoovis graciously gave me his permission to paint his photo. Rob does video productions as well as photography. His website: Oldsparkypro.com

I plan on adding birds to this painting as well. I am working with acrylics, but as most of my paintings these days are in oil, I am finding the acrylics a bit frustrating as they dry too fast. I may switch over to oil if I lose my patience!

ART CLASSES

I started an art class for adults, and another one for teens. I only created a teaching plan the day after New Years, and have one student at the moment. I am limiting the size of the class to 6, and am teaching it at the DAAS Gallery in Fort Myers, Florida. My one lucky student is getting a personalized one-on-one lesson this month anyway. Please pass this info along to anyone who you think might be interested. For more information:
